Becoming a Cotillionette
The process of becoming a Cotillionette begins with the completion of the Cotillinette Profile form and submission to the Los Angeles Links’ Cotillionette Chairperson. Each Cotillionette must be sponsored by a member of the Los Angeles Chapter of Links and must be a junior or senior in high school. The season begins with the Parent Information Meeting (time=TBD).
Each family receives the Cotillion Handbook at the parent meeting. The handbook provides information and guidance useful during the Cotillion season. Each Cotillionette is required to donate a minimum of 75 hours of volunteer service (# of hours possibly altered due to COVID) to a community service agency or cause. Additionally, Cotillionettes participate in a variety of activities planned by the Leadership Institute.
Most of these activities are held during the summer months and may include the following activities:
- Essay writing/Interviewing skills
- Dining Etiquette
- Cultural Awareness Activities such as theatrical performances
- Self-Esteem Workshops
- Health and Fitness Education
- Entrepreneur Workshop
- College Preparation Workshop
- Public Speaking and Global Exposure Workshop
- Legal Savvy Workshops
- Social Bonding Activities
